Mushtaq Apartment is a 200-square-meter apartment, approximately twenty years old, designed for a family in the retirement stage and undergoing expansion due to the children’s marriages. The apartment belongs to Leili Hekmatnia and Asghar Taerian, and the design and construction process was carried out simultaneously, completed between December 2021 and September 2022.

December 2021 / Hekmatnia:
“For 17 years, we have worked tirelessly day and night, and today we want a home for ourselves—a home with three bedrooms and independent bathrooms.”

The apartment featured a window with a stunning view of the park and river in the Mushtaq neighborhood of Isfahan, but the plan suffered from significant wasted space in its layout and functional organization. One of the most notable underutilized areas was the space between this window and a column in the middle of the living room, which had essentially become a corridor and storage area.

This project represents an effort to activate the latent potential of the apartment and transform it to meet the client’s needs and desires.
