2015 Architect Award
The Memar Award is one of the most prestigious architecture awards in Iran, organized by Memar Magazine. Its main goal is to elevate the quality of executed architecture in the country, introduce notable architects and projects, and encourage creativity and functional excellence in buildings. The award focuses on built projects rather than conceptual designs. Memar Magazine was established in 1997, and the first edition of the award was held in 2001. Since then, it has been held almost every year.
Projects are categorized into several main groups, including single-unit residential, apartment residential, public, and renovation projects. Only completed projects built after the Iranian Revolution that have not previously participated in past editions are eligible. The judging process is conducted in several stages, with key criteria including creativity, execution quality, spatial efficiency, and the social and environmental impact of the projects. The call for submissions is usually announced in early summer, with a submission deadline in August and final results announced in September.
The Memar Award allows architects to gain national recognition for their work, and the selected projects are often showcased in exhibitions and specialized architectural publications, making it the most important reference for highlighting successful architectural projects in Iran.
